The aesthetics of true power

Ben Bernanke gave a press conference the other day.

What struck me wasn't the end of quantitative easing, or the annoucment of the continued low interest rates. No, my attention was focused on Bernanke's podium.

It is super wide and very dignified. He is also sitting as he announces the fate of the world economy.

This is true power. It must be good to be the Federal Reserve Chairman.

  1. Also worth noting, the lighting. He looks really pale from the front, and more human from the back. I'm not sure of the meaning, but another interesting aesthetic choice.
